Modern teachers have to tailor learning experiences to the individual needs of students in the classroom. There are four main learning styles: visual, auditory, read/write and kinesthetic. A teacher needs to understand the specific learning style of a child and offer appropriate learning tools. Early Childhood Education teachers must also appreciate the difference in readiness levels of children and provide relevant activities. Allowing children to make choices based on their area of interest is another great way to personalize teaching.Assessment of Learning Outcomes
Assessment of learning outcomes in the past has been a summative assessment based on tests. The modern method of Formative Assessment is a data-gathering process used by teachers to help them customize instruction to match students’ needs. In formative assessment, teachers need tolearn and monitor children as they teach, using observations, questioning strategies, and class discussions. Teachershave to learn tokeep track of the progress of individuals, groups, or the whole class and then adjust the process by supporting or challenging students as needed.
